Put Every Color in the Right Bottle

Water Sort starts with a set of bottles filled with several layers of colored liquid. The colors are mixed, and the objective is to reorganize them until each bottle holds a single color.

To do this, you pour the upper layer from one container into another. A transfer is possible when the receiving bottle is empty or when its top color matches the liquid being poured. There also needs to be enough room in the bottle. These basic restrictions form the main logic behind the Water Sort Puzzle.

The challenge is not simply finding two matching colors. Moving one layer can uncover another color, create useful space, or make part of the puzzle harder to access. Looking at what sits underneath each layer helps you decide which bottle to work with next.

Empty Bottles Are Part of the Solution

Free containers play an important role in a liquid sorting game. An empty bottle gives you temporary space to move colors out of the way while you reorganize the rest of the puzzle.

Using that space too quickly can leave you with fewer options later. Instead of completing one bottle as soon as possible, it can sometimes be better to keep a container available and gradually bring matching layers together.

If the arrangement becomes difficult to continue, reconsidering a few earlier moves may open another route. Water Sort is based on finding a workable sequence rather than making moves as quickly as possible.

More Colors Change the Puzzle

The first stages usually introduce the basic pouring mechanics with relatively simple arrangements. Later puzzles contain more colors and more mixed layers, which increases the number of possible combinations.

As the Water Sort levels become more complex, the order of your moves matters more. A color you need may be trapped beneath several other layers, while the bottle you want to use may already be partially occupied. Solving these layouts requires managing the available space and deciding which colors should be freed first.

This gradual increase in complexity keeps the core rules unchanged while giving each new board a different arrangement to solve.

A Puzzle You Can Solve at Your Own Pace

Unlike games built around speed or quick reactions, Water Sort gives you time to examine the containers before making a move. There is no need to rush from one bottle to another. The main task is to recognize patterns and work out how the different layers can be separated.

That makes color sorting the central mechanic rather than just a visual element. The colored water shows both your progress and the remaining problem: mixed bottles still need work, while completed bottles no longer need to be rearranged.
