How to Play Dordle

The mechanics are intuitive, but managing two grids at once demands strategic planning:

• Two Boards, One Guess: Every 5-letter word you enter applies to both the left and right grids at the same time.

• 7 Guesses Total: You have a maximum of 7 attempts to uncover both mystery words.

• Color Feedback: After each submission, the letter tiles on both boards change color to provide clues.

• Win Condition: Correctly identify both hidden words before you exhaust your 7 guesses.

Tile Color Codes Explained

Just like standard word puzzles, Dordle uses visual feedback to guide your next move:

• 🟩 Green Tile: The letter is correct and in the exact right position on that board.

• 🟨 Yellow Tile: The letter is in the word, but currently in the wrong position.

• ⬜ / ⬛ Gray Tile: The letter is not present in that secret word at all.

(Remember: A letter might turn green on the left grid while turning gray on the right grid!)

Managing two boards with only seven attempts leaves little room for error. Use these pro tips to boost your win rate:

1. Use High-Value Starting Words: Open with vowel-rich and common consonant openers (such as ROAST, CRANE, ADIEU, or SLATE) to eliminate key letters across both boards immediately.

2. Prioritize the Clearer Board First: If one grid reveals multiple green or yellow tiles early, solve that word first to free up your remaining guesses for the tougher board.

3. Don't Forget the Keyboard Layout: Track the split virtual keyboard to see which letters are confirmed, misplaced, or eliminated on each respective side.
